A little about us:
Everett Wilkinson, Senior Strategist
Sam Mela, Senior Editor
Sam Mela and Everett Wilkinson answered the call for freedom shortly after the February 19th Rick Santelli “Rant of the Year.” Both Sam and Everett help organized their local April 15th Tea Parties. After the April 15th rallies, an organization dedicated to the tea party movement was formed “Tea Party Patriots.” Sam and Everett met shortly thereafter while working on a committee for Tea Party Patriots.
Specifically Everett Wilkinson has been tea party spokesman in the press and has been interviewed by Foxnews, Politico, Newsmax, MSNBC and several local newspapers and tv stations. One of Everett’s favorite time was on 9/12/09 in DC when his speech was cut short because the crowd had grown too large! Sam Mela brings his expertise of strategy and writing that is recognized by the right as well as the left.
Why We Started Countyroots.com
One thing we found out very quickly is that the media did not want to cover “tea party events.” Even when the media did cover events, most the view point was from a delusional left. Misquotes and name calling became standard protocol. Not only were Americans not being represented by their government, but they were being insulted by the press. The time has come for average Americans to have their voices be heard. Hence we started Countyroots.com, the first news website for and by the tea party movement.
Our Goal:
Countyroots.com goal is to become the premier news site for the tea party movement by the tea party movement. The name stands for County, meaning local, and root, grassroots. All politics is local. Countyroots.com believes that we can grow by sharing our experiences and getting valuable information out on government corruption. When the government steals from one of us, they steal from all of us. In short, we want to be the counter news to Huffington Post and the extreme left.
